Miss Tooty Sweat Body Lotion & Perfume Collection
Perfume is a mixture of fragrant essential oils or aroma compounds, fixatives, and solvents, usually in liquid form, used to give the human body, objects, and living spaces an agreeable scent. Before perfumes can be composed, the odorants used in various perfume compositions must first be obtained. Synthetic odorants are produced through organic synthesis and purified. Odorants from natural sources require the use of various methods to extract the aromatics from the raw materials. The results of the extraction are either essential oils, absolutes, concretes, or butter, depending on the amount of waxes in the extracted product.
Perfume ingredients, regardless of natural or synthetic origins, may all cause health or environmental problems when used. Although the areas are under active research, much remains to be learned about the effects of fragrance on human health and the environment.
Body Lotion
A lotion is a low-viscosity topical preparation intended for application to the skin. By contrast, creams and gels have a higher viscosity, typically due to lower water content. Lotions are applied to external skin with bare hands, a brush, a clean cloth, or cotton wool.
Lotions can be used for the delivery to the skin of medications such as:
- Antibiotics
- Antiseptics
- Antifungals
- Corticosteroids
- Anti-acne agents
- Soothing, smoothing, moisturizing, or protective agents (such as calamine)
- Anti Allergens
While a lotion may be used as a medicine delivery system, many lotions, especially hand lotions and body lotions and lotions for allergies are meant instead to simply smooth, moisturize, soften, and, sometimes, perfume the skin.
Most cosmetic lotions are moisturizing lotions, although other forms, such as tanning lotion, also exist.
